When we were in Florida for Christmas, I had the pleasure of tasting this terrific dessert. My in-laws have some great family friends that they have been friends with forever and every Christmas they exchange gifts. This year they traded some goodies..(how cute)...and this was what was received by my in-laws. Now, I am not really one for pudding really and I can take or leave banana. But let me tell you, I was almost happy that my brother-in-law requested the leftovers be taken over to Tampa for him because I was going to town on this. SO, SO, SO good. Rich banana flavor and the cookies on top give it an elegant texture. It won't disappoint and you may want to make two!
Not Yo Mama's Banana Pudding - Paula Deen
Ingredients
1 12-ounce container frozen whipped topping thawed, or equal amount sweetened whip
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
2 cups milk
1 5-ounce box instant French vanilla pudding
6-8 bananas, sliced (If I were to make this, I would make the bananas cut up very, very small..but that's just me).
2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies (these come in cute holiday additions too)
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
2 cups milk
1 5-ounce box instant French vanilla pudding
6-8 bananas, sliced (If I were to make this, I would make the bananas cut up very, very small..but that's just me).
2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies (these come in cute holiday additions too)
Directions
Line the bottom of a 13x9x2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top.
In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer. Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Yummo!
