Steak - It's What's for Dinner!

If my husband could eat a steak everyday,  for every meal, he would be more than satisfied.  I have never been much of a steak eater so I hardly make it.  When we go out for dinner he is normally ordering it because he does not get it at home often.  But, ever since I was pregnant, I have had a little craving for steak on occasions and this makes hubby super happy!

I saw this post on PlainChicken.com and it looked fantastic.  On busy weeknights, we don't always want to fire up the grill so this was a nice alternative.  It came out wonderfully and we both loved it.  Served it with veggies and a loaded baked potato.  I forgot to take a picture so I borrowed it from Steph's blog.  Looked the same anyway :)  Perfection!

Steakhouse Filets
4 2-inch filets
1 Tbsp olive oil
salt & pepper

Preheat oven to 425.   Season steaks with salt and pepper.  Heat an ovenproof skillet on medium-high heat for 5 minutes.  Sear filets in oil on one side for 4-5 minutes.  Turn them over, place the pan in the oven and roast to desired doneness.  Rare 5 minutes; Medium-Rare 7 minutes; Medium 9 minutes.  Allow filets to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
